Deborah Ward

Deborah Ward is the Founder of and Managing Principal at ALPS she also serves as the lead Instructional Designer. Deborah is an Adjunct Professor of Psychology with a focus on Human Development and Performance. She is also a certified instructor in Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) and Training from the Back of the Room (TBR). Deborah is client and outcome-focused. She enjoys working with organizations to help them clarify, communicate, and achieve their mission through organizational learning and performance solutions.

Facilitation that Matters

Deborah is a certified instructional designer who leverages active learning strategies to create engaging, adaptable, personalized, and effective training and curriculum with measurable linkages to client’s unique mission, business goals, and values. She supports ALPS clients in every aspect of the training lifecycle, she particularly enjoys engaging learners through delivery of training in virtual and classroom environments.

Over the course of her career Deborah has provided education and training for learners in universities, community programs, and multiple business and governmental workplaces. Deborah was the lead instructional designer for the Centers for Medicaid & Medicare Services (CMS) national rollout of the updated nursing home regulations (implemented 2016 - 2019). She has also supported learning and performance solutions for national and international implementations of new systems, policy updates, and organizational change management. These include a labeling system for the United States Dept. of Agriculture, a program for State Health Insurance Assistance (SHIP) Volunteers on working with people living with mental illness, and communication, outreach and blended-learning project for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS) Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics and Supplies (DMEPOS) Competitive Bidding Program.
